Crucible test notes

Act 1
The Crucible takes place in Salem, Massachusetts in 1692. The whole town is ran by religion, God and the rules of the town. The re Parris is all about the church and believes everything that is done should be done for God and nobody else. He is very religious. He found his daughter dancing in the woods with many other women. Some of the women were naked and he was very shocked and surprised with what he found is daughter doing because he is her daughter and should not be doing anything like that. He thought she was practicing witch craft. She denied doing any of that and blamed it on other women. Eliz Proctor thought something was wrong with her too because of the way she was acting and she didnt like her because she liked her husband John.

Act 2
John and his wife a mad because Eliz went to the witch trails and she was told to stay away. Many women were accussed of practicing witch craft and they were sent to his trail. Forteen girls went to jail because Abigail accused them of witch craft. In the town if anyone is even acussed of witch craft they will be hung if they dont confess up to it.

Act 3
John and Mary go to trial to testify. Mary tells everybody that he and the girls were just pretending that the craft affected them. The judge really doesn't know what to do. The court was getting upset when they asked John questions. They were asking John if he wanted to over throw the court and thats not what the court wanted to happen. During the trial the girls started screaming and saying that Mary's spirt was taking them over and getting to them. They were going out lof control.

Act 4
John is acussed of witch craft as well witch is a really shocking thing. In this act he signs that he has done it even tho he hasnt done anything to do with witch craft. So once he signs his confession but doesnt want it to be hung on the church door so he signs it and says isnt that enough that i confessed it doesnt have to go on the church door. He refuses to have it put on the door. In doing so he is hung and killed.

Early Puritans and Selem witch trails

I learned that the Protestant Church was the cornerstone of 17th century for the Puritans. The Puritans came over from England for a better religion. In the Salem witch trails 19 men and women were convicted witchcraft. they all were sent to be hung. The Salem witch Trails was in the town of Salem in 1692. The warrent for their arrest was came out on April 4th 1692. They all did their witchcraft in one house that they called the "Witch House."

What I've Learned...

The thing I've learned throughout all the stories we've read there are many rituals. Here is a picture of the prilgrams have thanksgiving in their own ritual way.

In the the Man to send Rain Clouds i learned that everybody celebrates the death of a person different. Everytbody believes their way is right. Here is a picture of native religion as it was native religion that was the conflict in the story. Religion is a major conflict in history.

In the way to Rainy Mountain the Kiowas were some of the finest horsemen in the world and their main conflict was that they had to surrender at Fort Sill. This is a picture of Fort Sill Cemetery.

The Kiowas did the Sun Dance to honor the sun god. This is another example of how different religions and native people do different things. Why we can worship God they do too but just a different God. God of the sun. This is a picture of a Kiowa doing the Sun Dance.

From Of Plymouth Plantation they had to find their own food and hunt. 2 to 3 people died each day. Today there are many people around the would that have to find food and starve just like the indians and pilgrams did back then. History repeats itself and we can learn from it. Starving people are still today. Here is a picture of the starving idians and pilgrams.
